R.2036 BR 4-6-2 Class A3 ST.Frusquin- this is a Hornby Top Link, these were their very top of the range models with superior detailing.
Also a Limited Edition this beautiful Loco is No.1214 of only 2000 models made in 1997. Constructed in the modern manner, it was only available for 1 year in 1997 and never re-released.This locomotive, numbered 60075, is just as good as the day it was first made.
St.Frusquin was the name of a racehorse that won the 1896 Two Thousand Guineas, which was owned by Mr.L.deRothchild.
The Locomotive was built as an A1 at the LNER Doncaster Works and was outshopped in October 1942. In June 1942 ST.Frusquin was re-built as a Class A3, but unlike many of the class kept it's original G.N.R. tender for the remainder of it's working life.
ST.Frusquin was re-liveried several times, and the Hornby model depicts the locomotive in the British Railway's experimental blue livery which was applied in May 1948.
